Beltane - The Wheel Of Sabbaths
I was presented with a Brazillian heavy metal band called Beltane. Of course, I have never heard of it. Heavy metal is not really my thing, but because we were in a need for heavy metal reviewers, I decided to take this one. Not much is known about this band, but according to the bio, they are original (yeah…), skilled (sure…) and probably the best heavy metal band on the world (uhhu…).
The music starts out and it was totally not what I expected. I expected some fiery heavy metal, but instead I was treated with very slow, ballad like songs. Some of the songs appealed to me, but it really took me 4 or 5 times listening to this record before I grasped it. And then, dear people, Beltane is suddenly not so bad anymore. Songs like ‘Divine Child’ and ‘The Ritual’ are some nice songs. The production isn’t too bad, but it’s not shockingly good! The sounds are quite dampened, with a very static drum sound. This is a little bit disappointing, but nonetheless a minor thing that irritated me.
